Harvest Time!

DSC_0376Autumn is the season for harvesting. It is the season that we reap the rewards of what we have planted in the spring. It is a time to start gathering fruits and vegetables and store or preserve them for the winter months. The leaves on the trees change their color and the air is cooler.

“I helped out with the harvest this year. We collected cauliflowers, scallions, beetroot, carrots and spinach. They looked great!”

– Anthony Murray

“We have a small orchard on the grounds of the centre and we have been very busy gathering the apples this month. We are always sure to leave a few for the birds so that they too can have a nice snack.”

– Declan Guildea
