Regional Athletics Competition

The Regional Special Olympics Advancement competition was held over two days in Morton Stadium, Santry.

Over 125 athletes competed in various track and field events, all hoping to qualify for Team Eastern 2018.

We had 6 athletes competing in the track events, finishing with 9 medals between them.

We had a fantastic two days watching and supporting all the athletes competing.

“I had a brilliant time in Santry, I was in the fast walking races and came in second place in both my races.  I met up with lots of old friends from other clubs and just enjoyed every minute of it.” – Suzanne Hyland

“I had great time at the athletics, I was in the 100m and 200m sprints and it was quick tough in the heat.” – Chris O’Neill
