Dublin Sports Fest: European Week Of Sport

On Monday we went to a “Walking football extravaganza” organised by Dublin City Council and the FAI.  The event was held in Dalymount Park and was run as part of the “European Week of Sport” and “UEFA Grassroots Week”.

It was a fantastic day overall and we were delighted to be invited! The games were great fun and we had the chance to mix up into different teams and meet new people. This was followed by a generous lunch while being entertained by live music, singing and dancing.

Big thanks to Gerry Reardon, FAI for looking after us!!

“I liked the day out and I’d love to go back again.  We had a lovely lunch and then we got up dancing.”

It was a great honour for me to score a goal in a famous Irish football stadium.  There was a great buzz around and I would love to go back again”

“This was my first time to play walking football and I managed to score two goals!!  When the games were over we went into the clubhouse to have lunch and listen to live music.  It was a fantastic day!!”
