Ceramic project at Eve Estuary.Designing and making a wind chime.

We recently made a wind chime for our garden in Estuary Centre. We had immense fun and everybody got involved. We  used Pinterest as a research tool and decided on our shape. We cut out our shapes and left them to dry before firing them. Next came the fun bit, glazing the pieces. You can see from the pictures that the glaze looks very different when it is first applied compared to when it is glazed.

Parts before they were fired in the kiln.

After firing the colour is a lovely deep metallic colour.

Assembling our piece.

Anthony and Elaine installed the wind chime in a tree outside the Art room. In Anthony words ‘I loved making the wind chime , I’ve never made one before, I love the lovely colours on it and you can hear it outside when the breeze blows on it, Its lovely’.
